February 4 - Day of Solidarity - Conflict with the National Library of Spain

In September 2010, the CNT of Madrid started a conflict with the administration of the National Library for its illegal outsourcing of more than 400 subcontracted workers who are being repressed and fired for denouncing their casualization. Our comrades Begoña and Sara, from the Music Department, and our comrade Marta, from the Area of Institutional Relations, were the first to be repressed for informing about their irregular contracts. They had been dismissed and transfered to the offices of the INDRA company where they remain sequestered until the resolution of the court case.

4 febrero- Jornada de Solidaridad - Conflicto Biblioteca Nacional de España

En septiembre de 2010, la CNT de Madrid inició un conflicto contra la Dirección de la Biblioteca Nacional por sus prácticas de cesión ilegal hacia los/as más de 400 trabajadores/as subcontratados/as, que están siendo represaliados/as y despedido/as por denunciar su situación de precariedad laboral. Nuestras compañeras Begoña y Sara – del Departamento de Música – y nuestra compañera Marta – del Área de Relaciones Institucionales – fueron las primeras represaliadas por denunciar su situación de contratación irregular, habiendo sido despedidas y trasladadas a las oficinas de la empresa INDRA donde todavía permanecen secuestradas hasta la resolución del proceso judicial.

Demonstration against NHS privatisation a success after Labour pull out

Around 50 people joined a demonstration outside the Royal Liverpool Hospital against the privatisation of the NHS. Members of Solidarity Federation, the Anarchist Federation, Women Against The Cuts and the Socialist Workers' Party were all present, along with a number of unaffiliated individuals who supported the cause. Despite the wind and rain, it was a lively gathering which drew in a fair amount of support from the public and service users.

A demonstration had originally been called by the Liverpool branch of the Labour Party. From the start it was a very sectarian, party political affair - with Andy Burnham MP as a speaker and the tagline "the NHS is only safe in the hands of The Labour Party - join us." However, rather than "join Liverpool Labour Group Councillors & Members of Parliament," members of Liverpool Solidarity Federation decided to mobilise a turnout for the demonstration which was both against NHS privatisation and against the Labour Party.

Reunión en Frankfurt por un día de acción europeo contra el capitalismo (31M)

Diversos grupos autónomos, así como organizaciones antiautoritarias y libertarias de distintos países europeos, se dieron cita en Frankfurt (Alemania) a principios de diciembre para mantener una reunión. El objetivo, determinar estrategias para una jornada europea de protesta el 31 de marzo.

Proteste gegen die Schließung öffentlicher Schulen

Die ZSP verurteilt die Schließungen von öffentlichen Schulen in der Gegend um Warschau scharf und ruft zu verstärkten Protesten gegen die Regierung der Stadt und zu mehr direkten Aktionen auf! Am 31. Januar beteiligte sich die ZSP an zwei Protesten im Stadtteil Praga, zu dem Eltern, LehrerInnen und SchülerInnen aufgerufen hatten. Die ZSP wird versuchen mehr Leute für kommende Aktionen zu mobilisieren. Bei einem der Proteste entschieden sich Studierende und Lehrer dafür, den Ortsbeirat zu besuchen. Als sie forderten den Bürgermeister zu sehen, gab es nur Ausflüchte als Entschuldigung. Am Donnerstag wird die ZSP vor dem Stadtrat demonstrieren und die Öffentlichkeit zum Widerstand aufrufen. Mit den Nachbarn wird sie ebenso die Idee zur Besetzung der Schulen diskutieren. Es ist möglich, die Schulen nachts über offen zu halten, um den Menschen dort Raum für öffentlichen Versammlungen und Widerstand zu bieten.
